QUALIMETER® - Quality control during production
Just recently, we invented a new Quick Test, which is meant to analyse specific parameters of a sample within a short-time. Equipped with such, the manufacturer is in the position to carry out a quality control parallel to the production: Within 3 minutes the test results may be in hand! Test results are the static and dynamic spring rate.
This brand new technique measures at room temperature, using the compression mode. The machine simply requires the sample to be provided to the compartment. Closing the door and pushing the start button makes the machine go ahead with the testing procedure as programmed with respect to the individual customer request.
Various testing procedures may be realized, such as including the conditioning of a sample by simply switching on this mode. No way to have it done easier! Static force permits a maximum deformation of a sample of up to 5 mm, while the dynamic force even admits up to 3 mm.
Figure 1: Typical sinusoidal test procedure (with preconditioning)Figure 1 is showing a typical test sequence. The test setup for pre-conditioning and final test can be different. Static load, dynamic amplitude and test frequency can be adjusted according to the customer’s request.
Figure 2: Test results within 30 sec. Figure 2 demonstrates a typical test result in compression mode. The test is over within 30 seconds.
The basic instrument offers the measuring of the static and the dynamic spring value. Optionally, further procedures are available, such as measuring the internal damping (tan delta) of a sample or the materials complex modulus of elasticity (E’, E’’). On request, even measuring the shore hardness is available as an optional feature.
